How I Just Knew I Was Pregnant Before Ever Taking a Test or Having a Missed Period

Have you ever heard about how some women just have this 'sixth sense' that tells them when they're pregnant?
Previously, I would have told you that this was a bunch of hokum. But after what I experienced seemingly almost as soon as I was pregnant, two weeks before my missed period, I totally believe it.
It wasn't all in my psyche, though, there were some physical signs as well.
First off, like I've already said, I just felt pregnant. I had been trying to conceive and had previously been disappointed every passing month when my period would arrive. But some kind of nicking in the back of my brain just told me Aunt Flow wasn't going to visit me this time around. I couldn't explain it, I just knew.
As I was heading into work one morning, I felt very, very, VERY nauseous. Sure enough, I did get sick. Most baby books will say that you can't have morning sickness that soon, but I have no other explanation for it. I threw up every morning for about a week, and felt fine the rest of the day. The sickness didn't come again until about ten weeks in, and is just now subsiding at twenty weeks.
Finally, as I was shopping for my wedding dress one day, I reached over and picked a dress off the rack. Instantly I felt as if I had pulled every muscle in my stomach that I had, and doubled over in pain. I was sore for the rest of the day. I guess this came from round ligament pain. From that moment on I understood why pregnant women shouldn't lift heavy things!
I took pregnancy tests but they all came out negative. It had only been two weeks since I had my period, though, and the dollar store brand tests I was using didn't pick it up. It didn't matter, though. I knew I was finally being blessed with a baby.
Finally, five days into what should have been my period, I took a test and sure enough, as soon as I put the magic pee on the stick, that little plus sign appeared. My mother (yes, she was in the room... we are the definition of 'close') couldn't figure out what I was freaking out about, as she was reading the test wrong. That's another story for another time, though.
So now... Baby Gilliam is set to arrive February 24, 2012! Almost halfway there!

Yep, I too just "knew" way before a test could even be pregnant. With my daughter, I actually had a vision of a little girl talking to me, to tell me she was on her way. I'm looking at her hopping around my living room right now. :)

I'm not due until February, but I am sooo excited.
Speaking of visions... I didn't have anything that intense, but even before I had my ultrasound to confirm the sex of the baby, I constantly had dreams of my baby being a girl, it never really even crossed my mind that it could be a boy. Can't wait.

Thanks!! Ohh yeah.. When I knew I was pregnant with my son, I knew it was a boy also! I think some people just KNOW. : ) Not due until Feb, but you better believe the months FLY! : ) Buy little by little (diapers, wipes, soap) each week or month so you don't freak at the last minute!

Well Brittney, I don't know your specific situation, but I would just have to suggest that you take a pregnancy test, if you've already missed your period. If you've had sex, even if you were careful, there is a chance you could be pregnant. If you have already missed your period, then the dollar store pregnancy tests should do just fine. The chances of a false negative do occur, so you may want to get more than one. However, a false positive reading is very rare, somewhere along the lines of less than 1%.
Congrats! I'm due January 10th 2012 :D It's quite exciting, especially if you've been trying to get pregnant for awhile. My boyfriend and I had been trying for months and each time, I'd miss my period for several weeks (a couple times I went a couple months) but found that partway through, I'd miscarry. After we decided to take a break from it in April (we had a family vacation coming up and he knew I was hurting emotionally and physically from each miscarriage) we wound up getting our little miracle. ^^
When we had headed down to Florida, I had an inkling that I might have been but I ignored it, including the early signs of it. The two tests I had taken after we had gotten back came up negative so I gave up and waited for good ol Aunt Flow to come soon. I wound up taking 6 tests although to double check and then when I had to go to the hospital a couple times, they did blood work. Their blood work came back negative while tests came back positive and I was so sad. D: But, after not getting my period for a 2nd month, I knew I was.
Funny how women seem to know that they're pregnant so early. =)
thanks. my period is 5 days late. and like i think my period is going to start... well like it should be starting but it hasnt, and normally i get really bad cramps. also my periods are never late. but thanks 4 the help ill go take one and ill let yall no the out come. thanks so mush 4 the help :)
So true! I knew well before my missed period with all 3 pregnancies...it's definitely intuition. I also could smell things no one else could LOL

ok. so im really confused. what i think is my period started.. but its not normal. at fist it spotted. then bled, then stopped. and my niples hurt really bad, and my lower back, and my boyfriend notied that 1. my belly button isnt as deep, and 2, that i look blotted. but with my period i get blotted, but he has never noticed b4...? please some more help.. i was going to take a test. but this all started. should i still take one. or what?
BB, if you aren't sure, I'd still take a test just to make sure. That's what I've had to do before when I had gotten my periods and wasn't quite for sure if I was or wasn't. And, considering that I just had started my period right before I got pregnant, I still took some tests. So yeah, if I were you and weren't completely sure I'd take a test.
the last time i was pregnant i had gotten my period and the month after that i didnt get it and i took a test and i was but i had to go to the hospital to make sure 100 percent because my pregnancy before that one was a complete spontaneous abortion in medical terms

Congrats!!! With my first pregnancy I KNEW I was pregnant.. I felt like a bubble in my belly : ) This pregnancy, I had no clue... : ( And I was actually scared that something was wrong with me, which I was convinced before I found out I was pregnant. Due next month!
